About Us
Join Together Trust (JTT) was founded in 2016 by a group of passionate youth with a mission to bring education to underprivileged children. These children, primarily from families of migrant laborers, ragpickers, and unskilled workers, often lack access to basic education. Believing that "Education is a Fundamental Human Right," JTT works tirelessly to offer quality education through their innovative “Makeshift Schools,” set up near the homes of these children to minimize barriers like commuting costs and time.
Despite initial challenges, including parents' reluctance, JTT has successfully established its presence and continues to grow. Today, JTT’s “Reach to Teach” initiative brings the gift of education to children in the most underserved communities.

The Journey of Join Together Trust (JTT): Reaching the Unreached
1. The Beginning (2016):
In 2016, a group of friends came together with a shared vision to make India a literate country. Their mission was clear: to provide education to the children of laborers, ragpickers, and other marginalized groups. These children, caught in the vicious cycle of poverty, were deprived of both adequate food and education, as their parents could only focus on meeting their daily needs.
2. Establishing School Units (Chapters):
To address this challenge, JTT started setting up school units, or chapters, near construction sites, market areas, and other convenient locations. These makeshift schools aimed to provide basic education, healthcare services, and social development to children who otherwise had no access to formal schooling. The goal was to bring education closer to where these children lived, making it easier for them to attend.
3. Comprehensive Approach: Education, Healthcare, and Social Development:
JTT’s approach extended beyond just education. The trust realized that children’s overall well-being was equally important. Therefore, they provided healthcare services such as immunization, basic medical care, and hygiene awareness. Additionally, they emphasized social development, teaching children social skills, manners, and confidence-building to help them integrate better into society.
4. Overcoming Challenges:
Convincing the parents to send their children to these makeshift schools was no easy task. Many parents, struggling to make ends meet, viewed their children as additional wage earners. However, the JTT team remained determined. They engaged with parents, gained their trust, and reassured them about the benefits of education. Slowly but steadily, parents started allowing their children to attend these makeshift schools.
5. Expanding Reach: From a Few to Hundreds:
JTT started its journey by reaching out to a handful of children. Over time, the organization expanded its efforts and successfully reached over 900 children. These children, who were once deprived of basic education, are now getting access to learning and a brighter future. Currently, 300 children are enrolled in JTT’s makeshift schools, receiving education and care.
6. Enrolling Children in Formal Schools:
While makeshift schools were a great start, JTT aimed to provide these children with long-term, formal education. The team successfully enrolled more than 200 children in nearby government schools, giving them access to continuous learning. JTT’s role didn’t end with enrollment; they conducted regular follow-ups to ensure that these children were progressing well in their new academic environment.
7. Monitoring and Support:
JTT’s commitment to the children didn’t stop at enrolling them in government schools. The trust consistently monitored the students’ performance through regular follow-ups and provided additional support when necessary. This approach ensured that the children continued to excel in their academic journeys.
8. A Growing Movement:
What started as a small initiative has grown into a significant movement. JTT’s efforts have not only transformed the lives of hundreds of children but have also raised awareness about the importance of education in marginalized communities. The trust continues to expand its reach, offering education, healthcare, and social development to those who need it most.
